The Intellingentsia Pathway

TABS’s Fellowship of Serious Minds is an in-person intellectual fellowship for serious minds committed to sustained inquiry, creative dialogue, and disciplined reflection. It is a space where thought is deepened, truth is pursued with honesty, and ideas are tested in the presence of others equally committed to intellectual seriousness.

The fellowship is grounded in intellectual diversity and inclusion, understanding that difference is not a threat but a gift and a blessing. Here, disagreement may be expressed without suspicion, and dissent is welcomed as part of honest inquiry rather than treated as a reason for exclusion or discrimination. Through shared conversation, reflection, reading, and engagement, the fellowship brings together minds that think critically, speak responsibly, and remain open to truth wherever it may lead. In this way, TABS nurtures a living fellowship of persons devoted to inquiry, dialogue, formation, and the disciplined pursuit of truth.

The fellowship brings together thinkers, writers, learners, cultural workers, and other reflective persons who engage ideas seriously and respectfully. Its members are distinguished not by academic credentials, but by the quality of their minds, the depth of their character, their genuine commitment to inquiry and dialogue, their openness to difference, and their willingness to contribute meaningfully to a community where difference is honoured, dissent is welcomed, and truth is pursued with honesty and care.

Admission is by application when openings are announced.

Reading for Reflection and Dialogue for Peace is a structured engagement in close reading, thoughtful reflection, and peace-oriented conversation around texts and ideas. It brings mature and responsible minds together in a shared encounter with language, interpretation, and disagreement. Through the reciprocal exchange of perspectives, participants deepen their understanding, refine their judgments, and discover more constructive ways of engaging difference. Members contribute to and benefit from serious reading, attentive listening, and dialogue that advances clarity, understanding, and peace.

Living Voices: Elders and Memory — The Human Library is a living encounter between generations. It recognizes that knowledge is preserved not only in books and archives, but also in the memories, experiences, judgments, and wisdom carried by persons — especially elders whose lives have placed them in contact with histories, practices, and forms of understanding that may otherwise disappear.

The Human Library brings elders and younger generations into thoughtful conversation, allowing the knowledge of the past to be heard, examined, and connected to the questions of the present. It does not treat the past as an object of passive admiration, nor does it assume that everything inherited should be accepted without scrutiny. It recovers what remains valuable, subjects inherited wisdom to reflection, and brings the experience of earlier generations into conversation with contemporary challenges.

It bridges the distances between generations and sustains a living exchange between memory and possibility, experience and inquiry, inheritance and innovation. Through attentive listening and serious engagement with the knowledge of elders, participants draw upon the intellectual, moral, cultural, and practical resources of the past while reinterpreting them for the needs of the present. In this way, memory becomes more than recollection: it becomes a source of wisdom, dialogue, and responsible action.
